I actually think other elements of the research are equally as interesting, but the headlines perhaps less so :)&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;When it comes to ownership, I totally agree with you. No one area is going to have sole control. It&amp;#39;s a joint effort depending on what the aims and objectives are. And if we look back at the research, it&amp;#39;s the aims and objectives bit that is causing problems for businesses. Public relations isn&amp;#39;t dead, because it was never really alive.  PR firms, who were formerly media relations firms, need to learn how to take the messages that they&amp;#39;re so good at crafting and distribute them in a meaningful way to the public, not just to a handful of reporters.  It&amp;#39;s the messaging thinking behind PR that is alive and well. It is still important for companies to communicate a clear message which is why I think the PR/comms industry has a bright future. But the transparency of communications today mean that the days of getting away with &amp;#39;spinning&amp;#39; rubbish to appear positive have well and truly gone.
